August, 2019 ㅣ Yoon's news letter ㅣ Thailand

It is the third year that young adults from Korea come to Chiang Mai in summer for a “Radical Discipleship Training.” I am delighted to share God’s mission with them and thank God for continuing to raise the next generation.

 

Leadership Changes

IMM (International Mission Mobilization) has elected a new leadership and the new leaders have decided to move their strategic location to Chiang Mai. A secretary will come from India to serve the new leadership and we are assigned to take care of her for the first years of adjustment. 

 

Changes of training contents and locations

We have visited south east Asian countries and observed their needs of mission training in each of their own locations. From now on we will be training missionary candidates both in Chiang Mai and out of Chiang Mai. First mobile training will be held in Surat Thani, South Thailand, from October until Nov 2019 for 6 weeks. There will be another mobile training in Vietnam from Feb until March 2020 for 7 weeks. These training are to serve local churches who wish to transform vision, direction, and practice towards mission. We pray that this will be an opportunity to provide mission training for the local church for mobilizing and networking for missions.

 

Karen Bible School

It has been already three years teaching mission at Karen Bible School. Some students have graduated and some are new to my class. We plan to visit graduates and Karen churches and encourage them to be partners of mission.

 

Mission Thailand

Even though there is a small number of Thai churches (less than 1 percent of the population), I have met several young Thai Christian leaders who are interested in mission. We thank God for these new contacts and hope that through them God will raise young Thai people for “Mission Thailand”. We would like to launch some kinds of mission trainings, seminars, and conferences in order to prepare a mission movement in Thailand. We pray for initiative, self-motivated, and pro-active young potential leaders.
